This is another Gamma World origin designed around a character archetype rather than a mutation. You can see the other origins in the series here.
When I first proposed my list of planned archetype origins and published the Survivor origin, Adam Minnie was inspired by the idea and started work on a Scientist origin. The basic idea for the origin was an Omega Tech specialist, but Adam expanded that to include the idea that the scientist would have a vast collection of minor gadgets in addition to any Omega Tech devices.
